ATLANTA DITC 3rd Olympic Painting: "A Bridge of Friendship from Atlanta to Beijing"

A gift to the City of BEIJING and BOCOG

Prince Jun Wang Fu Palace, Beijing - China (August 26, 2008)
Tonight the ATLANTA DITC presented to the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) and the City of Beijing a painting "A Bridge of Friendship from Atlanta to Beijing" specifically created by US Olympic Artist Steve R. Allen. The symbol of peace, sport and friendship was officially donated by the ATLANTA DITC to Mr. Zhou ZHENGBO from the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

The 2008 ATLANTA DITC PARSE Prize was awarded to Mr. Mario VÁZQUEZ RAÑA (Mexico), General Lassana PALENFO (Ivory Coast), HRH Prince Feisal AL HUSSEIN (Jordan), Dean GREENAWAY (British Virgin Islands), Joel BOUZOU (France), and Essar GABRIEL (Lebanon/France).  The ATLANTA DITC 2008 LEGACY Award went to Bob BEAMON.

The ATLANTA DITC Travels to Beijing

Beijing, China (August 4 - 31, 2008)
The ATLANTA DITC traveled to Beijing on August 4th to participate in the Games of the XXIX Olympiad. You can visit the ATLANTA DITC "Beijing Olympics" Blog for a daily account of their visit. While in Beijing, the ATLANTA DITC will have a display at the Visa Olympians Reunion Center. They will also be hosting a series of events, including the Atlanta Legacy Night on August 14th and on August 26th handing ATLANTA DITC's 3rd Olympic painting to BEIJING 2008 BOCOG and the City of BEIJING. On August 10th the ATLANTA DITC will participate at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Sport, Tourism & Development Forum.

5th Edition of the Atlanta DeKalb International Prep Classic (ATLANTA CLASSIC)

Since 2004, over a 1,000 athletes from 16 nations, including the USA, have competed in the ATLANTA CLASSIC.  The 5th Edition of the ATLANTA CLASSIC was the best ever with IOC Member Mr. Melitón SÁNCHEZ RIVAS from PANAMA as our guest of honor!
