2nd African Olympian Seminar

DITC & 1st International Symposium on Athletics in Africa
Rabat, Morocco (October 28 - 29, 2006)
Two presentations were given by the DITC during the symposium: 1. Together Atlanta's DITC & African Athletics Confederation (AAC) Providing Education and Training to Elite African Athletes in Preparation of the Olympic Games, and 2. Africa and the Annual DeKalb International Prep Classic. A message from CEO Vernon JONES and Ambassador Andrew YOUNG was played prior to the 2 DITC presentations.

Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic (October 19 - 22, 2006)
Two presentations were given by the DITC during the symposium: 1. Together Atlanta's DITC & Olympians of the Americas Providing Education and Training to Athletes from the Americas by Ambassador YOUNG and Dr. GUTEKUNST, and 2. The Classic by Murray SANFORD. A message from CEO Vernon JONES and Ambassador Andrew YOUNG was played prior to the 2 DITC presentations.

DITC is one of the principal sponsors of the Bamako Pan African Meeting that funded the meeting web site. Murray SANFORD, DITC Sports Director attended the Meeting.

Mauritius Pan African Meeting
Reduit, MAURITIUS (April 8, 2006)
Jean-Claude SORGE and Marc Daniel GUTEKUNST attended the meeting. Both also met with Michael GLOVER to discuss the African Athletics Championships to be held in Mauritius August 9-13, 2006.

ANOC 5th General Assembly
Seoul, KOREA (April 1 - 5, 2006)
DITC was officially invited by ANOCA to attend the ANOC General Assembly. Five representatives from the DITC were in Seoul: Marc Daniel GUTEKUNST, Amadou DIA BA, Jean-Claude SORGE, Josh HENSON, and Charlie BATTLE.

2006 TORINO OLYMPIC GAMES
Torino, ITALY (February 9 - 26, 2006)
During the entire 2006 Torino Olympic Games, the DITC had a display at the VISA Olympians Reunion Center (VORC) on February 11 the DITC participated at the 2nd Conference on Poverty Alleviation Through Tourism and Sports, and on February 14 the DITC unveiled its 2nd OLYMPIC painting "The DITC Olympian Legacy" by Steve ALLEN, USOC Olympic Artist and DITC Artist-In-Residency.
